Final team previews and CCJBL rules

May 18, 2017
Here are the last two CCJBL team previews!

CHADWICK SILVER STREAKS 2017 ROSTER

Danny Scheaffer, 12, c/1b/of- A valuable backup that can play several positions.

Tommy Leach, 12, cf/3b- Fast little guy. Loves a good triple!

Francisco Lindor, 12, ss- This kid smiles a lot! and hits a ton, too!

Vincent Coleman, 12, lf- An absolute terror on the base paths. Never saw a base he didn't want to steal!

Reggie Sanders, 11, rf- Tremendous athlete. Can hit it over the fence but will swing and miss quite a bit.

Juan Samuel, 12, cf/1b/2b- Plays multiple positions, none particularly well unfortunately. Also will strike out a lot. Not trying to be mean. It's the truth.

Craig Biggio, 12, 2b/c/of- Tiny. Fast. Can do it all.

Garrett Kness, 11, c/3b/of- Looks at home behind the plate. Teammates call him "Cheese." I don't want to know why.

Henry Bauer, 12, of- Big Yankee fan that can really hit.

Kirk Gibson, 12, of- A bit gimpy but has a knack for hitting clutch dingers!

Charles Root, 12, p- Steady and reliable hurler.

Jered Weaver, 11, p- Young kid doesn't throw hard, but knows how to get batters out.

Steve Karsay, 11, p- Not a big name in the league, will be relied upon for solid innings.

Team Summary: Pitching could be a problem but the lineup has versatility and speed.

LANARK BEAVERS 2017 ROSTER

Tony Gwynn, 12, of- This chunky left is the best contact hitter in the league. Just try to strike him out!

Enos Slaughter, 11, rf- A contact hitter with a bit of power and top notch defensive abilities. Likes to be called "Country."

James Bottomley, 12, 1b- Lefty with a sweet swing!

Cooper Pauley, 12, 2b/lf/c- A scrappy little hustler with a knack for getting on base any way he can!

Chris Iannetta, 11, c- Will be doing the bulk of the catching duties.

Craig Grebeck, , 12, if- Utility infielder that is also a solid contact hitter.

Josh Hamilton, 12, of- A gifted player. All the tools. Should challenge for league MVP!

William Jacobsen, 12, cf/1b- Known as "Baby Doll" to his buddies, for reasons unknown. Covers a lot of ground in center and you can take it to the bank he's hitting .300 or better.

Michael Higgins, 11, 3b- Nicknamed "Pinky." Should provide good production at third.

John Ward, 12, ss/2b- Another kid that's hard to strike out. Also quite a thief on the basepaths!

Jay Dean, 12, p- Better known as "Dizzy", this little righty doesn't shy away from a little self-promotion. But he backs it up on the diamond!

David Price, 11, p- Lanky lefty who will strike out a bunch of hitters! Regular season beast but has struggled mightily in tournament play in the past.

Chuck Finley,, 11, p- Another young lefty! The future is bright on the mound for the Beavers.

Team Summary: This team is going to put the ball in play and put pressure on the defense. Dizzy may have to carry a heavy pitching load.
