Hello, Google Searcher!
This is NOT a blog reporting on a real youth baseball league. This is a league played with the Strat-O-Matic baseball simulation game. The league schedule and rules ARE based on the actual Carroll County Youth Baseball League in Illinois where I played as a kid and coached as an adult. Occasionally somebody that actually played in the league will appear but the bulk of the players will be actual current or past major and negro leaguers. There will also be a few fictional players sprinkled in. But again, NOT a an actual real life league.
From here on this blog will document the league as if it IS real, however. Since I had this idea in August, I will go back in time a bit to play the 2017 season at roughly the same time as the real Carroll County league does. Then I plan to continue to play another league season every spring/summer. I think of it as mix of Field Of Dreams, Backyard Baseball, and a bit of fictional storytelling.
